IKEv2 on macOS

Why use IKEv2?

IKEv2 is a secure, fast VPN protocol that’s built right into macOS.

This guide will walk you through setting up IKEv2 VPN on your Mac using the built-in VPN client.

Setup Guide

  1. Open Network Settings Open System Preferences > Network. If you’re on macOS Big Sur or later, go to System Settings > Network.

  2. Add a New VPN Service Click the + button to add a new service. Choose VPN from the Interface dropdown, and select IKEv2 as the VPN Type.

  3. Configure VPN Settings Enter the following details:

    • Service Name: FastCamino VPN (or any preferred name)
    • Server Address: us1.fastcamino.com (or your preferred server)
    • Remote ID: us1.fastcamino.com
  4. Authentication Settings Click Authentication Settings and enter:

    • Username: (your VPN account username)
    • Password: (your VPN account password)

  5. Connect to VPN Click Apply and then Connect. Your VPN connection will be established.

Quick Access

You can quickly connect/disconnect from the menu bar VPN icon, or add it to your menu bar from System Preferences.
